Elephant Ears Success Again

Thanks to the great efforts of all the Danville
and Plainfield Kiwanis the Elephant Ears at
the 4-H Fair was a great success. Whether it
is taking money, rolling dough, or generously
pouring on the sugar and cinnamon this fund
raising activity is a favorite of fair goers and
Kiwanis' members. Thanks to Lisa Hoover
for heading up the Chapter's events.

PJ Neace and her daughter man the Kiwanis
booth at Fair on the Square. Kiwanis were selling
bottled water, giant coloring books and taking
orders for Christmas Cards. Kiwanis gave out
more than 300 balloons to area children over the 2
day event.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt is great success! More than 3,000 eggs filled
with candy and  coupons for free food were "found" by area children.

2009 Scholarship winners:
Three Danville High school Seniors will receive $500 scholarships to further
their post secondary education. The winners are: Ms. Blair Harris, Ms. Nikki
Cullison, and Ms. Kaitlin Binkley. Presentation of the awards will be May 16th at
Senior Awards Night.
BUG program comes to a close for the school year. Forty-six
students from Danville South Elementary were treated to a free
movie, popcorn, snack item and a drink on April 29th as the Bring
Up Grades program concluded for the year. Thanks to the great
BUG mentors: Fr. Tom Stepanski, Dave Nierman, Roxanne
Simmons, and Brenda Lycan.
